Love To Love You
I spent a snowy afternoon with Melissa and Danny doing an engagement session a few weekends ago, and we all had such a great time that I'm excited to shoot their wedding already, and it's still a year away! They both insisted that they were awkward in front of the camera, but instead I saw a sweet and playful couple who just loves being with each other. The lightly falling snow added some magic to the photos, and there was even some time for an impromptu snowball fight that broke out between the two lovebirds, who are also die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf fans. It's always a treat when I get clients that are able to relax and have fun while I'm shooting, and I look forward to working with Melissa and Danny again for their special day.

Behind the Chair
If you follow my blog you've already seen the amazing work that Jamie-Lynn can do with hair when we collaborated on a shoot that I called Girls In the Garden. This time, the session was all about the girl behind the stylist chair, with me doing some headshots for Jamie to use on her new website that is currently in the works. If anything can attest to how good she is, just look at how gorgeous her own hair looks! I'm also in love with her scissors necklace, its way too cool. If you want to know more about Jamie or her business A Small Hair Studio you can click to find it on Facebook.

A Cozy Couple
I spent a chilly afternoon with Katrina and her boyfriend Kyle, along with their dog Layla, as we trudged around in the snow at a local abandoned farm. They decided to get some nice portraits done with each other before Valentine's Day, and I think they turned out great! The two of them are really cute together, and we had a few laughs during the shoot.

Finding My Way
There's something magic that happens when a thick blanket of fog falls onto the country landscape... It hides the world away, creating mysterious little spaces in between. It makes everything seem completely different; places you know like the back of your hand suddenly become surreal & unfamiliar, but somehow amazing. Driving through the mist on dirt back-roads, you feel alone, somehow lost, but always close to home. And when the fog lifts, you remember the little things that were there all along.

Engagements Are Engaging!
For the most part, my clients are either people I know personally, or people who know people I know personally. So when I do get a new client, its always a bit awkward at the beginning of the shoot, trying to keep everyone comfortable and happy. But I got lucky with this duo, as they are both incredibly playful & loving with each other, and eased right into the whole process. Krystle and Aaron are getting married this spring, and I will also be shooting their wedding, which I'm excited for as it will be my first of the season. Though I would never call myself a "wedding photographer" I am starting to really love doing it, and will keep doing it until it no longer becomes fun. But I still love doing family sessions, newborns, etc... Really, I love it all.

Christmas Mini Session
I did this session right before Christmas and designed some beautiful holidays cards for the family with the resulting photos. Last summer I did maternity photos for my friend Seana and her partner Braden, then after the little bundle of joy arrived, I did newborn and family photos with the two of them and their new addition Arlo. So I was excited to work with them all again when Seana's mom Barb contacted me to do a mini-session and Christmas cards. It was a fun day at their house in Singhampton and after some indoor shots we headed out into the backyard for some snowy ones. I'm so happy I have had the chance to get to work with this family multiple times, and hope to do more in the future.
