Sleepy Smiles

My first newborn of the 2014 season was this little guy, whose awesome parents hired me to shoot their wedding last year. Casey & Amy are laid back and fabulous to work with so I couldn't wait to share these images. It gives me so much joy to photograph clients on multiple occasions, because I really feel like I get to see their family grow and evolve over the years.

Baby Elgin decided he wanted to come a week early so we had to do some shuffling to book the session but once I got there, he was so smiley and charming. And that hair! I have never seen a baby with a fauxhawk, until now!

Welcome to the world, Elgin George Hollema.

Military Engagement

Kim & Grant met up with me a couple weekends ago to sign the contract for their wedding later this summer, and while we were together we did some engagement shots on Base Borden. They both have connections to the military so it was the perfect spot, although it certainly was a chilly day to be outside! My favourites are the ones with their dog, how cute is that handmade sign around his neck?!

Post Valentine's Day Wedding

Athena and Craig were my first wedding couple of the 2014 season as they tied the knot on February 15th. It was a sunny but frigid day, so the wedding party and I traveled to the nearby Barrie Public Library for photos.

The library staff was amazingly helpful as we all made a spectacle of ourselves walking around in such fancy attire. I loved the light coming through the windows of the library and knew that the artistic staircase would be a great backdrop for the adoring couple.

It was a day full of laughter and this laid back couple was a joy to work with.

Congrats Athena & Craig!

Happy Hat Man

I know, as a professional, that I'm not supposed to have favourite clients; but when someone has been in front of your camera multiple times, it can be hard not to have a soft spot for them. Arlo is one of those people... probably because I've been taking pictures of him since before he was born when I did maternity pictures for his wicked cool parents, Seana & Braden. I swear, he gets cuter every time I see him! And he has the *best* collection of hats I have ever seen! The shots from this mini session were a gift for his dad's birthday, and very well received by the whole family.

Backyard Bliss

Somehow I missed posting these shots a few months ago when I spent an afternoon with this adorable family in their backyard here in Creemore. Ashley & Phil are so easygoing and their daughter Anneliese is becoming one of my favourite kids to photograph. She absolutely loves being in front of the camera, and always gives me huge smiles. Expect to see a lot more of them in the future, they hire me for everything!!

Beach Baby Bump

I spent a beautiful, clouded evening at the beach with this gorgeous couple for a maternity shoot a few weeks ago, and couldn't be more in love with these photos! Courtney & Logan were amazingly playful and loving in front of the camera which made for an easy breezy session. They've just welcomed their baby girl to the world this past weekend, so hopefully I will be doing newborn photos soon.

Happily Ever After

Another mini-session for Father's Day had me meeting up with this family in June. We visited a nearby abandoned farm and had some fun in the last bit of golden light the evening had to offer. How cute are the three siblings together?

Sunny Summer Session

Last month I did a cluster of mini-shoots for Father's Day, starting with this brother-sister duo. Lucas and Kaitlyn. Their mom was planning to give the portraits to the kids' dad as a surprise, and I'm sure he melted at the sight of Kaitlyn's adorable smile! We walked around the local park and beautiful gardens here in Creemore, soaking up the lovely sun.

Together Forever

Last fall I did engagements for a great couple, Amy & Casey, who finally tied the knot a month ago at a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Mono. I had a fantastic day with their families, full of laughter and good times all around. I've been friends with the groom's sister for years, so being already comfortable with their group of people made things even better. I unveiled my portable "photobooth" which mainly consisted of some fun props, making for hilarious candid shots during the reception. I was so happy with the photos from the entire wedding, and wish Amy & Casey only the best for their future together!

To Have & To Hold

In April I had my first wedding of the season - a lovely day with a couple from earlier this year, Aaron & Krystle. The ceremony took place at the beautiful Central United Church in Toronto, with a quick trip to the Davis Tannery in Newmarket for photos afterwards and ending with a great reception. It was a day as long as the stretch Hummer limo that the wedding party traveled in, but amazing nonetheless, and a fantastic way to start the season. I really enjoyed working with Aaron & Krystle, and their family made me feel at ease the whole day. Congrats you two!
