There's something magic that happens when a thick blanket of fog falls onto the country landscape... It hides the world away, creating mysterious little spaces in between. It makes everything seem completely different; places you know like the back of your hand suddenly become surreal & unfamiliar, but somehow amazing. Driving through the mist on dirt back-roads, you feel alone, somehow lost, but always close to home. And when the fog lifts, you remember the little things that were there all along.

Engagements Are Engaging!
For the most part, my clients are either people I know personally, or people who know people I know personally. So when I do get a new client, its always a bit awkward at the beginning of the shoot, trying to keep everyone comfortable and happy. But I got lucky with this duo, as they are both incredibly playful & loving with each other, and eased right into the whole process. Krystle and Aaron are getting married this spring, and I will also be shooting their wedding, which I'm excited for as it will be my first of the season. Though I would never call myself a "wedding photographer" I am starting to really love doing it, and will keep doing it until it no longer becomes fun. But I still love doing family sessions, newborns, etc... Really, I love it all.

Christmas Mini Session
I did this session right before Christmas and designed some beautiful holidays cards for the family with the resulting photos. Last summer I did maternity photos for my friend Seana and her partner Braden, then after the little bundle of joy arrived, I did newborn and family photos with the two of them and their new addition Arlo. So I was excited to work with them all again when Seana's mom Barb contacted me to do a mini-session and Christmas cards. It was a fun day at their house in Singhampton and after some indoor shots we headed out into the backyard for some snowy ones. I'm so happy I have had the chance to get to work with this family multiple times, and hope to do more in the future.

The Duggan Family
This shoot was done in the first week of December, and even though we still had no snow, it was bitter cold that day; even so, both boys - Blake and Brody - were so well behaved and a joy to work with! I picked a local abandoned farm property that was full of old cars because mom Amanda told me that her hubby Clint was a vehicle enthusiast and would get a kick out of it. We all braved the windy weather to get some great shots of the boys for Christmas, and the family loved all the photos. I had a fun day with all of them and hope to work with them again in the future.
